After reviewing Rotor-dynamics reports by OEM in integrity point of view for the last 13 years, it is time to share some knowledge on the subject. I have witnessed many tests of Turbomachines and now providing technical support to many engineers who are witnessing tests. As inhouse skill development program , I had conducted a full session of Rotor-dynamics and written documents on this subject for department. Understanding phase amplitude plots is of great importance in rotor-dynamics and gives a great insight of rotor behavior in various conditions.

Mantosh Bhattacharya is designated Subject Matter Expert on Turbomachinery in Petrofac Intl. located in UAE.With more than 27 years of experience, he is entrusted to evaluate of design and selection of rotating machinery with view to machinery stability and criticality. He also renders support to analyze and solve machinery related issues to various projects at site and OEM works. He has good skills in machinery dynamics as CAT IV certified vibration analyst, a chartered engineer CEng (MIMechE-UK), Intl. PE (UK), a member of ASME. He is a member of Asia Turbomachinery and HI standards committee. He has published and presented several technical papers in conferences / journals and holds two U.S. patents.
