The success of any vibration monitoring program will be dictated by the consistency and appropriateness of the measurements taken. Configuring such measurements need not be trial and error. Whilst there are nuances between different types of vibration database software the core principles remain the same. A basic understanding of fundamental theory is the starting point but applying this in practice can require significant experience. This educational webinar will provide an overview of applying vibration theory in practice and is suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Guidance will be provided on vibration measurement configuration aligned with equipment failure modes; where and when to apply certain types of measurements, the importance of consistency in conventions and common mistakes to avoid.

About the Presenter:

Matthew Moore BSc (Hons) is the Global Subject Matter Expert in Condition Monitoring for Petrofac. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of vibration and condition monitoring and is a certified Mobius Institute ISO 18436-2 Category IV certified vibration analyst and training instructor. Matthew has extensive experience implementing vibration monitoring programmes and developing global guidance documents and condition monitoring strategies for the oil and gas industry. He is also the designer of CBMnet; Petrofac’s bespoke digital condition monitoring risk based reporting and information management system, which has been implemented on over 100 facilities in some of the remotest locations around the world.
