Webinar Description:
Vibration monitoring in hazardous areas begins with selecting the right accelerometer or vibration transmitter, but it doesn’t end there. The entire measurement chain, even parts outside the hazardous area, must meet electrical and safety requirements to support safe sensor operation. This webinar will detail the necessary accessories, including safety barrier requirements and cable capacitance calculations, as well as mounting hardware, enclosures, and when you do (or don’t) need a certified handheld vibration meter.
Learning Takeaways:
1. Identify the hazardous area certifying body in your country and the relevant accelerometer classifications.
2. For Intrinsically Safe area requirements, choose a Zener barrier that ensures your sensor operates within the specified parameters – without degrading sensor performance.
3. Complete the vibration sensor measurement chain with mounting hardware, cabling, termination points, and instrumentation that uphold the hazardous area rating.
